Accounts – Projects

Overview #

The Projects section in Quality Clouds provides a structured way to group and manage multiple orgs, repositories, or instances under a unified context. It simplifies developer access and enables more scalable governance as organizations grow their environments and teams.

By consolidating environments into Projects, Quality Clouds sets the foundation for finer-grained access control and streamlined operations across your platform ecosystem.

Creating a Project #

  1. Go to Account > Projects > Add.
  2. Fill in the project’s Name and Description.
  3. Set Write-Off Propagation on or off. (if the add-on is enabled)
  4. Click Save.

Project creation works the same way across all products. Once created, connect instances to the project from the Instances section (see below).

Viewing and managing your Projects #

The Projects list (Account > Projects) shows every project in your account, filterable by platform (ServiceNow, Salesforce, Office 365) and searchable by name.

For each project, the list shows its name and description, the number of instances connected to it, the number of users assigned to it, and its creation date. From the Actions column, you can open the project’s configuration (eye icon) or delete the project (trash icon).

Opening a project takes you to its configuration, split into three sections: Project Info, Instances, and Users.

Project Info #

Shows and lets you edit the project’s Name, Description, and Write-Off Propagation setting. It also shows the project’s creation date, and how many instances and users are currently connected to it — both read-only counts, managed from the Instances and Users sections below.

Write-Off Propagation ensures that decisions to accept and approve write-off requests are consistently applied across all instances connected to the project.

Instances #

Manage the instances connected to this project. From here you can:

  • Create a new instance directly within the project.
  • Edit an existing instance.
  • Move an instance to a different project.
  • Modify an instance’s tags.
  • Run a connectivity test.
  • Schedule a scan.

Main instance (Salesforce only)

For Salesforce projects, one connected instance must be set as the project’s main instance. This is the instance that defines the project’s Ruleset and Quality Gate, and it governs the whole project. This setting doesn’t apply to ServiceNow or Office 365 projects.

Users #

Shows every user assigned to this project, with their Project Role (Project Admin, Project User, or Developer), last login, and whether they’re an approver. See Developer Role in Quality Clouds for how the Developer role works.

Assigning a user to the project

  1. Open the project and go to the Users section.
  2. Click Assign User.
  3. Search for one or more existing users by name or username, or click Create new user to add someone new on the spot.
  4. Select the Project role that everyone selected will get.
  5. Click Assign to project.

You can also remove a user from the project, or edit their project role, from the Actions column of the Users table.
