Performance

The Performance view helps platform owners and teams monitor performance issues across client-side and server-side transactions. It combines static code analysis with ServiceNow transaction data to pinpoint slow operations and performance-related coding issues.

What the Performance View Is #

Platform: ServiceNow
Access: Normal User, Customer Admin, Project User

This view brings together:

  • Slow client transactions
  • Slow server transactions
  • Performance-related code issues
  • Trends over time

It enables teams to identify bottlenecks, understand where delays come from (browser, server, network, rules), and take corrective action.

What Data You’ll See

#

Performance Overview

  • Slow client & server transactions

  • Trends and top affected users

  • Response time breakdowns
  • Performance-related issues & severity

Key Sections (Summary Table)

Section

What You See

Why It Matters

Slow Client Transactions

Totals by time ranges (1s+, 1–3s, 3–5s, 5s+), trends, affected users, response time by type, browsers used, global ratios

Identifies which users, browsers, or elements contribute to slow client performance

Slow Client Grid

Full list of slow client transactions with browser, network, server, business rule timing

Helps pinpoint exact bottlenecks and prioritize fixes

Slow Server Transactions

Totals by time ranges (1s+, 30–60s, 60–120s, 120s+), trends, response time graph

Highlights long-running server operations affecting the platform

Slow Server Grid

Full list of slow server transactions with detailed timing breakdown

Supports performance investigation and debugging efforts

Performance Issues

Issues by severity, warnings, row count ≥100, trends

Shows all performance-related coding issues detected by scans

Performance Issues Grid

Detailed list of issues filtered by severity, type, application, developer

Enables targeted corrective action and code-quality improvements
