To scan Salesforce environments with Quality Clouds, you must first configure your instances in the Quality Clouds portal.
This process establishes the secure connection between Salesforce orgs and Quality Clouds using the Connected App credentials (Consumer Key and Consumer Secret). Once configured, Quality Clouds can authenticate and perform scans on the selected environments.
What It’s Used For #
Instance configuration allows Quality Clouds to connect to Salesforce orgs and analyze metadata for quality and best-practice compliance.
Administrators can define:
- The Salesforce environments to scan (Production, Sandbox, etc.)
- Security authentication through Connected App credentials
- Governance features such as Quality Gates and Peer Review
After setup, the Instances section in the Quality Clouds portal displays:
- Configured Salesforce environments
- Environment details and metadata
- Scan configurations and governance settings
This enables centralized management of all connected Salesforce orgs.
Prerequisites #
Before configuring instances, ensure you have:
- Quality Clouds portal credentials: https://portal.qualityclouds.com/
- Connected App credentials: Consumer Key and JWT certificate
- Required IP allow-listing, if login IP ranges are restricted
Quality Clouds portal IPs must be added to Salesforce Login IP Ranges if IP restrictions are enabled.
