Quality Clouds provides a predefined KPI called Quality of Cloud (QoC), which reflects the overall health of your instance or org.
You can find this KPI displayed in the Home view, as well as in several other dashboards across the platform.
How Is Quality of Cloud Measured?
#
The Quality of Cloud value is calculated as follows:
- Every new instance starts at 100% quality.
- Points are subtracted depending on:
- Number of issues found
- Issue severity
- Impact area affected
- The reduction does not follow a linear model.
- Instead, an exponentially decreasing curve is used.
- This prevents QoC from ever going into negative values.
- The curve is calibrated using the full population of instances scanned across Quality Clouds.
Weight Matrix: Impact Area & Severity
#
Each issue contributes differently to the QoC score depending on:

These weighted values determine how much each issue reduces the QoC.
🔎 Note: Upgradeability impact area applies only to ServiceNow.
Interpreting Quality of Cloud Scores
#
- 80% – 100% → 🟢 Healthy instance
- 70% – 80% → 🟡 Monitor closely for potential degradation
- Below 70% → 🔴 Remediation work is recommended
Quality of Cloud per Impact Area
#
Due to platform differences, QoC per Impact Area is calculated differently for ServiceNow and Salesforce:
🟦 ServiceNow
- The total QoC penalty is distributed evenly across all five Impact Areas.
- If one Impact Area contributes disproportionately to the overall penalty, its QoC value may drop to 0%.
🟨 Salesforce
- QoC for each Impact Area is calculated independently, following the same exponential reduction model as the overall QoC.
- Because of this, QoC for any Impact Area should never reach 0%.
