Operational Scans Overview

Operational Scans are an add‑on to Quality Clouds. They extend Quality and Governance scans by providing continuous visibility into the run‑time behaviour of your SaaS instances.

Operational Scans help organizations continuously monitor platform quality, governance compliance, technical debt, and operational health across enterprise SaaS environments.

They surface operational insights and alerts that help teams understand how the platform is actually used in production—and detect issues early.

Each Operational Scan captures a set of metrics. Some metrics are broken down by one or more dimensions, such as:

  • Users per role
  • Users per department

Metrics and their derived alerts fall into the following categories:

  • User adoption
  • Error detection
  • Performance
  • Resource usage

Supported SaaS Platforms

#

Operational metrics are monitored for:

  • ServiceNow
  • Salesforce
  • Microsoft Office 365

Operational Alerts #

Alerts notify you whenever the value of an operational metric does not meet expected thresholds.

  • Alerts can be configured for any operational metric
  • All alert information is displayed in the Alerts Overview view for each SaaS platform

How to Add an Alert #

  1. Open the Admin Portal
  2. Go to Instances
  3. Click Actions → Alerts
  4. Select an alert template and click Import

You can then customize:

  • Type: Custom (do not use Template for a single instance)
  • Name
  • Description
  • Severity: High, Medium, Low, Warning, Info
  • Metric name
  • Trigger type: Threshold or Range
(Comparisons always include the specified value — i.e. ≥ or ≤)
  • Threshold direction: Above or Below
  • Threshold value
  • Notification: Mail / UI / Silent
  • Impact
  • Action

Click Save to activate the alert.
