The Quality Clouds for Salesforce – Visual Studio Code extension allows you to scan and validate your Salesforce code locally as you write. This enables you to detect and resolve issues early in the development cycle, before committing or promoting your work.
You can check the following types of CEs: Classes, Triggers, Pages, Components, Objects, Reports, Workflows, Flows and JavaScript.
These are the steps you need to follow to check your code:
- Run a LiveCheck.
- Check your code.
- Fix the issue or request a write off.
How to run a Livecheck #
Once you’re logged into the extension and have connected to a Quality Clouds project, you can run a scan in just a few clicks.
- In Visual Studio Code, open the Explorer panel and select the file you are working on.
- Once opened, right-click in the code editor and select Quality Clouds Run Livecheck.
- You can also run a livecheck from the explorer menu. Right-click on the file you want to review.
This will initiate a Livecheck using the rules and Quality Gates defined for your project.
Reviewing the Scan Results #
Once the scan is complete, the results are shown in the Problems panel.

Each issue will display:
- Issue type
- Severity level (Low, Medium, High, Warning)
- Quality Gate status (Blocker, Minor, Legacy, N/A)
- Exact location in your code (line and character)
A link to the corresponding best practice documentation

Clicking an issue will take you directly to the relevant line of code.
Fixing or Writing Off Issues #
You can address each issue directly in the code or submit a write-off request if the issue is justified.
To request a write-off:
- Click on the issue from the Problems panel.
- Select the “Request a Write off” option.
- Fill out the form and submit it for approval.
Once approved, you can run a new livecheck, and the issue will be written-off. The issue will be excluded from future Livechecks.

If the write-off has been automatically approved:
- A message will pop up saying it has been approved.
- In the Problem section, you will see that the write-off of that issue has been approved.
