Demo Repository

What it does #

The demo repository is a curated sample project, maintained by Quality Clouds, that’s already been scanned for you. It shows real findings across all five impact areas — Security, Performance, Maintainability, Manageability, and Scalability — a genuine Production Ready Score, and examples of AI-powered findings. It’s the same product experience you’ll get on your own code, just pre-filled so there’s something to explore on day one.

Everyone sees the same demo repository and the same results — it’s a shared reference, not a copy per account.

When you’d use it #

Use it right after signing up, when you want to understand what Norma gives you before wiring up your own repository. It’s read-only and costs you nothing, so it’s a safe place to click around: open issues, read fix recommendations, look at the score breakdown, and see how the Coverage and stack profile pages work.

Where to find it #

The demo repository shows up in your Repositories list. A few things make it easy to spot:

  • A blue Demo badge on the card.
  • The subtitle “Sample repository by Quality Clouds” under the name.
  • The description “A shared, pre-scanned sample project curated by Quality Clouds.”
  • A Last refreshed date instead of a “Scanned” date.
  • A single View results action — there’s no Run scan or delete button.

It always sits after your own repositories, so it never pushes your real work down the list, and it stays visible whichever workspace you’re viewing.

If your account has no repositories of its own yet, you’ll land on a demo-first empty state headed “No repositories in this workspace yet”, inviting you to “Import a repository or move an existing one here. Or explore the shared demo below to see a full stack profile, issues and AI fixes.” During onboarding you may also see an Explore a demo repository card with a View the sample button, marked “Read-only · never uses your scan quota.”

What you can do with it #

Open the demo with View results and you get the full, read-only experience:

  • The repository Overview with the Production Ready Score and the score-by-area breakdown.
  • The complete Issues list, with each issue’s detail and fix recommendation.
  • The Coverage tab and the detected stack profile.
  • Rule details for the rules that produced the findings.

Because it’s a shared sample, the demo is read-only for everyone. You can’t run a new scan on it, apply AI fixes, rename it, move it between workspaces, or delete it. If you hover the info icon on the card you’ll see why: “Read-only demo — connect your own repository to analyse your code and generate AI fixes.”

When you’re ready for the real thing, the natural next step is to connect your first repository — that’s where scanning, AI fixes, and your own scores come in.

Limits & notes #

  • It never uses your quota. The demo doesn’t count toward your repository limit, and opening it spends no scans or AI-fix credits. A Free account still gets its full allowance for its own repositories.
  • You can’t remove or hide it. The demo is always available on every tier.
  • It appears only once it’s ready. If the shared sample hasn’t been successfully scanned yet, it simply won’t show — you’ll never see an empty demo.
  • Importing the same project as your own is fine. If you import the demo’s public repository yourself, that copy is a normal repository: it counts against your quota, scans normally, and sits alongside the shared demo entry.
