How repositories and branches count #
Norma lets you scan the same repository on more than one branch (see Scanning multiple branches). The quota model reflects that:
- Repositories count by repository URL, not by branch. A repository scanned on
main, develop, andrelease/v2counts as 1 repository against yourRepositories per workspacequota, even though it shows up as three cards on the Repositories page. - Scans count per scan execution, per branch. Scanning three branches consumes three scans from your allowance.
- On the Free tier (1 repository), you can add as many branches as you like to your one imported repository — branches don’t consume a repository slot. You just can’t import a second, unrelated repository without upgrading.
- The Usage panel and quota bars in Organisation Settings always show the deduplicated repository count. Expect the number of cards on the Repositories page to be higher than the repositories count when you’re scanning multiple branches.
How to see your current usage #
Open Organisation Settings and scroll to Plan & tier. Three usage bars show how much of each weekly quota you’ve used.
You can also see at-a-glance counters in the top bar of the app — the chips next to your avatar.
What happens when you hit a quota #
- Workspaces full: the + New workspace button in Organisation Settings is disabled, with a tooltip explaining the limit and a link to upgrade.
- Repositories full: the Import button on the Repositories page stays available, because you can still add branches of a repository you’ve already imported without using a slot. Inside the picker, any new repository (one you haven’t imported yet) shows a lock icon; clicking it opens the upgrade drawer. Branches of imported repositories remain freely addable.
- Scans exhausted: the Run Scan button on each repository card is disabled until the next reset. If you try to add a branch while your scan quota is exhausted, the branch is added but its first scan will only run when the quota resets.
Upgrading #
You can upgrade from the Upgrade button in the top bar of the app, or from Organisation Settings → Billing. Billing is handled through Stripe; you’ll be taken to a secure Stripe Checkout to enter payment details.
Plans and pricing #
Tier limits, upgrades, and billing are managed from Organisation Settings in the app. For current plan details and pricing, see qualityclouds.ai/norma.
